City of Love

Paris really is a romantic city. There are people kissing everywhere! Metro travellators, bridges that overlook the Eiffel... very sweet. And it's not just young people! Old couples holding hands and kissing, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I loved the fact that Parisians are so proud to be French. And I didn't meet unfriendly Parisians either. I was convinced that people would be mean to me because i can only say "Merci, Au Revoir, Pardon, and Merci Becoup? oh. and madam, monsieur and mademoselle. Oh! And a lot of Excuse moi?" I said that so many times, gosh.

amelia and i are super thrifty. But in a nice way. We had foie gras on the Eiffel tower! Nice! Supermarket foie gras and left over bread. Heh. I dragged her to a student eatery in Port Royal and man it's cheap! 2.70Euro for a full dinner. shiok.

Metro rides are super ex and throughly complicated. There are interchages everywhere! And amelia and i can attest to the fact that u walk a hell lot in the metro. From one line, u walk at least 800m to the next platform! No kidding. And pple cheat the system a whole lot. Tsk tsk. Jumping over and under gentries (how do u spell that?) I think I spent a small fortune taking the metro. Argh. oh well.

Saw the Louvre and I loved it! I'm not sick of museums at all. The Italien gallery with Da Vinvi's Madonna on the Rocks, Mona Lisa - who was much better than I expected, and some other artists were goregeous. Pscych and Mercury, another must see and the Mesopotamia and Greek prehistory work was so good. Very relevant to what I'm studying in Dawn of European Culture. For the first time, I find my science course more interesting than my humanity course. Pharmaco more interesting than Dawn of European Culture? Apparently. They really help u along and even today's oral test was interesting. Amazing no?

anyway, I thought that I could finish the louvre in 4 hours. my foot! I didn't see all that I wanted and was so knackered at the end of it. Went to Hillsong's church there too! Amazing. You could most definitely say that God was in the house. And the french pple are a little less expressive than i thought they'd be but the dude next to me, very inspiring. haha got whacked a little in his enthusiasm.

you can call me a freak for believing in God and all, but I do! And he's certainly helped me lots during this trip, staying safe in Paris, not getting pickpocketed - Paris is so notorious, meeting great people, and getting back to Lund in one piece. Honestly! Travelling back was so complicated. Locker for bags in Gard Nord, then to Chatelet, then to Porte Malliot, man so many changes i practically had to run in the subway with 3 bottles of wine in backpack and 1 bottle of champagne in hand. Crazy.

And I got to the bus to Beauvis (airport) in time! And Beauvis is a market. Seriously. 1 ryan air flight was cancelled (woah scary! i 'm taking ryan air in dec!!) and the people had a fit! Then from Copenhagen to Lund was another rush. I caught the last bus back to my place. So thankful! I thought I'd walk back in the rain. Joy! i'd give that bus driver a hug if i had free hands. Well then, some will say i'd do that even if he hadn't stopped by the side for me.

Oh I haven't finished my description of Paris yet! Eiffel was goregous. Amelia and I chose the right day to go. It was sunny with blue skies!! Yum I love blue skies. And we climbed up to the 2nd floor. Don't be deceived, the 2nd floor is 718 steps up. KE has given me much training. All that stair climbing has come in useful. From the 2nd floor, u see all of Paris. :) We fed fat pigeons grape seeds.. greedy buggers.

You see all the sites where romance movies are filmed in Paris. so pretty!

One thing I don't like about Paris though .. the traffic. So many cars! I think staying in Lund has made me like the slower life better. And because the place we stayed at in Paris was pretty crappy, I was so happy to see my room when I got back. Oh man, the streets of Lund are being decorated for Christmas! And I'm glad to be back to Lund where I'm more used to things.

Oh heh! I was a little worried about failing microbio and called joy the moment I got to sweden. And she didn't know the results!!! But I got them today and... I got a High Pass! 83%!!! Apparently it's not easy. Well, it wasn't! I still think it's a miracle. I looked at how the examiners marked it and they were lenient. :) I'm not complaining.

Now.. to call my bro.
