the blessings i have
To take all things in perspective, to make the small saddness even tinier,I'm thankful for quite a few things!
My family who care so much abt me. Even when I'm upset about the smallest things, they sigh but still listen. My friends!! esp my church friends in singapore! my citykids teachers and kids are.. so sweet! Comfort from the strangest sources. The sources u thought dried up a long time ago. And ever so thankful.
That I was born into a great family, where I need for nothing, whom I can depend on for help. That I'm not out in the cold, alone and hungry. sounds weird that I say all this, but there are people out there who really are suffering... So I'm grateful for all i have.
What can I say, life is 80-90years long. There's eternity set in the palm of our hands, some people don't see it, some do. So what are u going to do with these 80 years? 21 of mine are already over, and soon I'll be on my deathbed and wondering, did I use it to the fullest? Did I regret not living my life to the max? I already have regrets. Small ones, but I don't want to have too many. It's a waste of time and emotions.
And although I thought that I was a pro at controlling my emotions, this last month has been a serious rollercoaster. So I'm trying to put things into perspective.
If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."[l] 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[m] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
