It's beginning to look A LOT like christmas here.. Every window has candlestands in 7s, there are stars hanging in almost every window and there's a nice blanket of snow covering most places. Very pretty. Pity that the area i directly live in is quite built up so the snow doesn't stay unlike other ulu spots in lund where it's all white! And it ain't even December yet. Yay. my wish for a white christmas is coming true.

The strangest thing...
Do you know, that I'm a real picky person when it comes to friends?
my mum is constantly telling me, "Go find other friends other than s11! Your social circle is so restricted." Well, it's true. I don't make close friends easily and sometimes, my pickiness is appalling.
But Lund honestly has made me change a little. For example, to be frank, I wouldn't have really been that interested in getting to know my church friends better cause in a way, I don't really live on the same frequency as them. But still, the circumstances - i.e. being alone here! forced me to make a better effort. And man! I'm going to miss Caroline so much! Oh man.. I wish that she didn't have to go home so soon! And I won't see Carol (yes, caroline and carol) till late jan when i'm just about to leave. And when I have to go home, I'll miss Calle and Ruth so much. Seriously, these pple are so full of love. I kid you not. It's so amazing how they open their hearts to us just like that. So it is true, love is so precious. I look forward to meeting them.
And I'll miss Joy a hell lot when I go home too. Which is why girl, I am so going to Thailand to meet up with you in June or July. We are going to eat so much good food there. Yes Yes, so i'm frugal! It's a good thing u know Joy! Ha ha... u shld've seen the poor nutrition deprived girl today at Ruth's. She's so...malnourished. Too much processed foods for her.
So it is true that the greateset of all is love.
Ain't it a kick in the head.

1st Sunday of Advent
Today! The town was packed. Seriously. I have never seen so many people out and about on a Sunday here in Lund. Awesome!
I studied zilch today and it feels pretty good. Have some sort of study group thing tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.
Oh yeah! We had chicken rice and Sze Chuan soup today! I am in full awe of Irene who can make that soup from scratch. Chicken rice was courtesy of my parents and good ol prima deli though. But still awesome as usual! Rei, this Singaporean girl who's amazingly here all alone doing her masters came too. Can tell that she needs some company from the way she enjoyed herself tongiht.
Just watched Scrubs and oh, it's so nicely good to indulge in NO work for the day!
Tmr.. more work to do!

It's insane how I can go from searching for quotes for my Archaeology essay to looking at quotes about atheism, to ending up at wikipedia peering at C.S Lewis.
Did you know that C.S Lewis was an atheist in his youth? Well, I found out a few months ago and didn't finish reading Surprised by Joy that I so badly want to read now. I find it amazing how this brilliant man can be so honest about his life, the change of heart and still so beautifully logical.
Just reading his biography on wikipedia makes me wanna buy all his books. Well.. I already do own so many of his books. Just haven't finished reading them.

Tra lala
Things are looking up logistically wise. I've extended my room stay, booked all my flights for all holidays, got dental wax from good ol Benny! woah big thanks for that. braces were making me bleed. fun!
Did animal experiments today. i think I just numbed myself before i did it. anaesthetised the rat, Karen didn't hold it tight and it wriggled out of her grasp as I injected its stomach! ARGH! it was hanging by the needle in mid air for a second. I almost had a heart attack! Man, then we had to seperate the connective tissue, so it was like ripping it's muscle apart. Found the air pipe and had to cut it, stuff a tube down it in case we needed to put it on the respirator if it stopped breathing, then had to find these miniscule veins and arteries to stick tiny plastic tubes in.
Thank goodness I had 'training' sticking needles into Ah Ma on our China trip. Karen, my Scottish lab partner was freaking out half the time. fun!
Anyway, we couldn't sdtick in the tube into the vein, and somehow, blood didn't come out of the artery. darn! Well, I did the euthanasia this time round, it's Karen's next time to be the hangman.
Poor rat... died under the hands of 2 girls, one who was sleepy and hungry as she cut it up and the other rather jumpy.

Totally stressed out
taking 2 courses at one time, settling end of year plans, planning my money, feeling scared about freezing in Kiruna, and having 3 essays to hand in plus study a lot before my parents come is getting to me.
Seriously. There is no time to lose. And I'm so thoroughly stressed out.

Sunday!
Woah, survived the week! Paris, school, Gothenburg, and a full sunday. nice.
Church this morning was so good! It was something like a Children's Sunday event so they got all these dads who are excellent musicians to lead worship and all and man! they got one of their daughters to sing with them. I tell you, I so missed Citykids then. My buzz group! Oh man, miss them heaps... And the kids are absoultely adorable! This tiny boy just walked straight up to the stage climbed onto the piano and started bashing away until his horrified father went to collect him, right as the speaker was going on and on. comic!
Anyway, this lovely lady - Brigitta, apparently i remembered wrong, she's not the same lady i thought she was. She drove us to her house. Deprived me was so excited. I think I've been in cars twice in Lund. Twice! I can't even remember the first occasion now. And man, I think I'd have had problems biking there. Pretty ulu. Woah, her house is so well decorated. There's ornamental stuff everywhere. I am so going to the second hand shop and buying it up! Lunch was awesome! Neils her husband is one good cook! Well done Brigitta, you married well. Desert, coffee, man, we were stuffed! And luch started at 1 and ended at 4! Can u imagine that? So long! I didn't even realise that 3 hours had passed.
Horror horror! I put on weight! Brigitta owns a weighing scale and oh man, i'm so appalled that i won't even mention that horrid number.
Oh! Apparently, Neil and Brigitta are Gideonites and before u start screeching Cult Group! It's not, they just give out bibles at hotels remember? Anyway, that's eexactly what they did, they gave us Swedish-English Bibles. Awesome! I was just thinking of buying one today for a keepsake.
Came back pretty late, been doing research for my essay. methodological screen methods for diuretics. Exciting no? But it's almost done. I'll finish it tonight!!
Super long skype conversations are so draining. My eyes are hurting from staring at the screen and I so rather would be watching tv.
handling animals for the first time tmr. Well.. not first time, but animals that i eventually will have to kill. Oh man.. I know that we don't kill them tmr, but...i'm really sad for the poor animal..

Gothenburg!
Was COLD!!! Brrr.
Mum and Dad, please please be prepared. It's no joke jumping from 32 to 0 or minus degrees. Aiyoh.. my slow transition is already pretty rough man. I'm scared about Kiruna now. Minus 10? 20? And my legs were already cold at 1 degree today in Gothenburg. Well, that's about the same temperature in Lund. Only in Lund, we usually are out in the cold for at most an hour everyday- from class to home. We were out all day long and man, I am so beat now. I think I even slept on the train back. gasp! lyd sleeping in public transport. So has this trip been like NS training for me? I now can sleep anywhere! well.. that's not true actually but whatever yeah?
Oh! Ma and dad, I've booked and bought ur tickets! Oh! So relieved. Glad that that's over! Now we just need lodging in stockholm and gothenburg for u. Shldn't be a problem i think.
I'm invited to this nice Swedish lady's house for lunch tmr! :) She's so observant! remembers me from the newspaper. amazed (and flattered of course!). So super nice of her to invite my cell group to her place. She barely knows us!
:) anyway, I'm all tuckered out. I still have 1 day more of my scan rail pass that i can use for travelling. tempted to go to gothenburg again, it was so good.
polo for 10 sing anyone?
